Daredevil:

Curated VFX brought visceral realism and gritty detail to Daredevil: Born Again (Marvel Television), delivering over 140 shots across the season - all executed from the company's New York studio. The work spanned complex CG environments, graphic blood simulations, and subtle invisible effects designed to heighten the grounded storytelling that defines the series.

From day one, the collaboration with Marvel Television was both creatively rich and deeply integrated. Curated VFX Supervisors Ed Mendez and Dan Bornstein, alongside VFX Producer Adrienne McNeary, worked closely with series VFX supervisor Gong Myung Lee and series VFX producer Fahed "Freddy" Alhabib to deliver cinematic visuals rooted in realism. Within the sequences, imperfections in light, texture, and movement were intentionally preserved — further action without compromising authenticity.

One of the season's most ambitious sequences unfolds in a warehouse battle featuring Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal). As Castle ascends a ramp, feeding off opponents with an axe and a knife, Curated created detailed CG weapons and blood simulations to enhance the brutality. Lit with deep shadows and harsh reflections, the scene required a calibrated blend of stylization and physical credibility. Environmental blood splatter serves as orientation cues, guiding viewers through the chaos with spatial clarity.

Another standout moment features Daniel Blake's (Michael Gandolfini) character entering the back seat of a taxi in a fluid, continuous take. Production had phsyically removed the glass and roof for the shot, and Curated digitally reconstructed those elements with a matte-painted roof and CG window, complete with accurate looking refractions and distortions.

In a particularly gruesome scene, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) grins after a table slam leaves a bloody gap where his canine tooth had been. Rather than a simple paintout, Curated added a bubble of bloody saliva that bursts as he smiles, revealing torn and dangling gums, — a brief but complex shot demanding both technical precision and creative boldness.

A pivotal sequence involving Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) required the creation of a massive sinkhole on a New York street. Though filmed on location, the final shot includes a fully digital sinkhole, cracked asphalt, collapsing debris, exposed infrastructure, and rising steam to match the show's tactile, urban aesthetic.

Beyond those signature moments, Curated provided on-set supervision, concept design, look dev, 2.5D and additional CG set extensions, FX simulations — steam, shattering glass, blood — and even a photoreal animated housefly.

Daredevil: Born Again stands as a testament to Curated's ability to fuse cutting-edge technology with grounded storytelling — bringing Marvel's gritty, street-level world to life with precision and impact. All episodes of Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again are now streaming only on Disney+.
